About Acton Water Damage Pros
We handle water damage and mold calls for homes in Acton, Massachusetts and the towns around it. This page explains how the work is organized and what you can expect from the first call.
What We Do
Acton Water Damage Pros handles the first, middle and last stages of a water loss: stopping the spread, extracting standing water, drying the structure, cleaning out what cannot be saved and rebuilding what was removed. Mold remediation is part of the same picture, because mold is what happens when a wet building is not dried in time.
Our office address is 35 Nagog Park, Acton, MA 01720, and the line at (978) 252-8637 is answered 24 hours a day. We work in Acton and in the nearby towns of Concord, Maynard, Boxborough, Littleton and Westford. Each of those towns has its own page with local detail.
What To Do When You Need Us
You call the line
Tell us what is wet, where the water came from and whether it is still running. If you can safely shut off the supply, do that first.
We ask the questions that decide the plan
The source, the age of the water, the rooms affected and the materials involved all change how the job is done.
We explain scope and price
Scope and price are explained before work starts, so there are no surprises about what is included.
Crews start the work
Same-day response is offered when available. Extraction and drying begin as soon as the plan is agreed.
Drying is checked, then repairs begin
Moisture readings guide when it is safe to close walls and rebuild.
Standards We Describe This Site By
Restoration has published standards, and we use their terms so you can compare us with any other company on the same footing. ANSI/IICRC S500 is the standard for professional water damage restoration, and ANSI/IICRC S520 covers professional mold remediation. They are published by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification.
For mold, we also follow the guidance published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. EPA recommends keeping indoor humidity below 60 percent, ideally between 30 and 50 percent, and says to dry water-damaged areas within 24 to 48 hours. Those two numbers appear throughout this site because they drive most decisions.
What We Do Not Do
Plain limits, so you know where we stop
- We do not promise a specific arrival time, because traffic, weather and call volume change.
- We do not diagnose health conditions or make health claims about mold. Health questions belong to your physician.
- We do not promise that mold will never return. Only controlling moisture does that.
- We do not replace a roofer, plumber or waterproofing contractor. They fix how water gets in, and we deal with what it did.
- We do not give exact prices without seeing the job.
These limits are deliberate. A company that promises everything on a phone call is guessing, and water damage rewards careful assessment over fast promises. If you hear a promise that sounds too good, ask what it depends on.
Why The Site Is Built Around Local Detail
Water behaves differently depending on where it lands. Acton drains to the Assabet River through Nashoba Brook and Fort Pond Brook, and the town's 2018 hazard mitigation plan rates flooding as a high-frequency hazard. About 10 percent of the town's housing units were built before 1940, so older plaster and original basements are part of the landscape.
That is why our pages explain things like ice dams, groundwater and plaster ceilings instead of repeating generic advice. The goal is for a homeowner to read a page and recognize their own house. Our services pages cover the work itself, and the areas we serve pages cover the towns.
Insurance, Records And Paperwork
Most water losses involve an insurer. The Massachusetts Division of Insurance says sudden interior water damage may be treated differently from a gradual problem, and that flood damage and sewer backup are generally excluded unless you added coverage. We suggest calling your insurer or agent early and photographing everything before cleanup.
We keep notes, moisture readings and photos of the work, so you have records to share with your insurer if you file. We cannot promise what a policy will cover, and we do not decide your claim.
Our Commitment To Plain Answers
Restoration has a reputation for jargon and surprise bills. Our aim is the opposite. We use simple words for the stages of work, explain why each is needed and tell you what is included before work starts. If we do not know something, we say so, and we say what we would check.
That is also why this website does not promise specific arrival times, health outcomes or guaranteed results. Those promises depend on facts nobody can know on a phone call, and we would rather earn your trust with accuracy.
